November 2nd-Capital Procession

Experience a powerful act of devotion and witness to life. Join us on a unique 14-mile rosary procession to show our solidarity against abortion. This event is a primarily devotional experience, focusing on praying the Holy Rosary with the intention of ending the practice of abortion.

We will begin our journey at Holy Cross Catholic Church, heading south on Power Road and then west on the south side of Baseline Road. This is a "relay" in the sense that we will be carrying a 50-foot rosary, passing it off to a new group of participants every mile along the way. You don't have to walk the entire 14 miles; sign up for as many or as few miles as you can comfortably walk.

Please plan your transportation accordingly. Whether you're walking back to your starting point, being picked up, or using Valley Metro, please sign up below so we can adjust the relay schedule and estimate the number of participants.

Let's come together in prayer and action to defend the sanctity of life.

About Us

It all started when we were at a meeting for the Respect Life Committee when a divine feeling to build a life-sized rosary hit us. We planned to use it for a rosary march to lead our brothers and sisters to the light of God, and to promote the sanctity of life and prevent abortion and Proposition 139 from entering into law. Several ideas were thought about the appearance of the rosary, but God helped us make it exactly how He wanted, so a few days later, we got a bulk pack of buoys and painted them red. We made a cross and had some ideas of a centerpiece, so we checked some stores and found the perfect one; a Saint Benedict four-way cross. We also got some red rope to tie it all together.

We got to work building the rosary, and the next day it was complete. We decided to walk it to a Planned Parenthood that is 14 miles away from Holy Cross Parish. There are also 14 parishes including Holy Cross on route which represent the 14 stations of the cross. We created a sign-up page for people to volunteer 1 or more miles; that's when Beads for Babies was founded, and the rosary was named The Atomic Rosary, a Weapon of Mass Instruction. Eventually, we decided to set the date of the walk to October 14th (Columbus Day) in honor of The Knights of Columbus.

We want to thank God for helping us through this journey as well as everyone who supported us and is participating in the walk to help lead everybody in the right direction and to spread love and peace from person to person. The Atomic Rosary will continue to be used afterward, and we can't wait to see what its use will be. Sincerely, Beads for Babies.
